Basic Raid Rules
There are some general rules when it comes to raiding with Omnia and these are no less important than any of the other rules.
- If you want to attend a raid you must be signed up on the raid organiser. In general sign ups will close 24 hours before a raid.
- If you are not signed up then you will be considered after anyone who is signed up/confirmed for any free spots. You will also not receive a Wildcard.
- Only sign up to a raid if you can turn up and can commit to a minimum of 3 hours.
- If you can't make it to a raid but are signed up then sign-off of the raid
- If you sign-off of a raid on the same day of the raid(or after sign-ups are closed) please post the reason for your late sign -off on the forum.
- If you expect to be late please let the Raid Leader know a least 2 hours in advance. Even so a place will only be kept until the start time.
- All times are in Server Time(CET), so use this even if it's not your native time zone.
- Be sure to be online, in the raid and ready to go at least 10 minutes before the start time, otherwise you could lose your spot in the raid.
Please note that raids are subject to raid resets by Blizzard and as such may well move certain raids to different days.
Minimum requirements
Part of the minimum requirements for all classes is knowing the tactics of fights before attending them, this means you should do some light reading before you turn up to a raid so that your not totally clueless. It is also important that you bring along appropriate pots/flasks and buff food for instances so that you can buff up to max when asked to.
- Remember to bring along pots/food/flasks/elixirs to raids!
- Have all your gear enchanted and gemmed up!
Necessary Mods / Programs
For all raiders
Its important that you have the following mods:
- CT RaidAssist or ORA2 - Either of these mods are essential. If you use ORA2 you'll probably also need a unit frames mod such as SRaidframes, AG_Unitframes, Grid or PitBull
- Ventrilo 3.0 - Not a WoW mod but an external comms program. We make extensive use of voicecomms for barking instructions/telling jokes after a wipe. The Ventrilo server details are in the 'Guild Information' tab ingame.
- Omen A mod to gauge the threat of raiders against a group of targets - very useful to prevent pulling aggro.
- Deadly Boss Mods or Big Wigs These mods assists on many many boss fights providing timers, distance checkers and warnings.
For specific roles
There are also other more role specific mods which are also compulsary, if they apply to you.
- Decursive 2.0 - New version of Decursive for TBC, used by any class with a cleansing spell to help with the task.
- Clique - A viable Decursive alternative for click+modifier dispelling when used with some decent raidframes.
Raid Invites
Raid Invite & Looting Order - All Raids
Please note: The raid leader can over-ride any of these rules and his/her decision is final.
Invite Order:
- Members who meet the minimum standards for that instance
- Members who do not meet the minimum standards for that instance
- alts
- friends
Highest roll on the organiser decides between people of the same category wanting a spot.
Confirmations to a raid are done to ensure that a raid has the required number of healers and tanks, and generally so that we have a member of each class in a raid if possible. I should stress that the note above is there so that the raid leader can confirm people to a raid outwith the normal invite standards to allow a raid to stand a decent chance of being successful. Please also note that gear and experience can trumph rank. Dps from a class that can also spec to healing should not expect to be taking any healing spots within the raid regardless of the invite order unless it is absolutely neccessary, in which case you will be invited as a healer and not as a damage dealer. I hope this gives you guys some insight into the methodology behind confirmations and invites :)
Exception to invite order is when a regular member or raider (trials get declined) happens to be totally unsuitable for raids ( in terms of skill, knowledge of the class, attitude and otherwise reasons) the raid leader will be able to refuse his confirmation and make a report about the person to the Council Members who will then decide wether or not this person gets a temporary raidban to give him time to shape up and improve his skill, attitude, etc. If he fails to improve he will get reported again and then be discussed wether or not he gets demoted.
Also an exception are the harder progressraids like coloseum & bosses not killed much before: in that case people ranked as [C] on the raidplanner will get priority on invites above normal rolls/wildcards. take a look at Raid Minimum Requirements for more information about this.
Wildcard Information
Wildcards are used to ensure that everyone will have an opportunity to go on raids even if they don't have the highest roll for their class on the raid organiser.
This beside your name on the raid organiser indicates you have a wildcard. Having a wildcard for a specific raid means that no matter what your roll is you will be confirmed for that raid(excepting special/extreme circumstances).
Wildcards are still subject to minimum gear requirements and guildrank.
The following is general information about wildcards:
- Wildcards are given to those who were out rolled during sign ups.
- The Wildcard applies to the next raid of the same type that you sign up to. So for example if you get a wildcard from being out rolled for a Ulduar 10 raid this will be applied the next Ulduar 10 raid you sign up to.
- If you are out rolled during sign ups it is still advisable to be online at the start time as spaces may well become available.
- If you are invited as a reserve and spend 1 hour and 30 minutes or more in the raid then you will no longer be eligible for a wildcard for being out rolled
- If a raid is cancelled everyone who was online and ready at start time will receive a wildcard.
Reserve List
During a raid a reserve list will be kept to determine the order that we invite people into the raid should the need for a replacement arise. Anyone who signs up for the raid but does not get confirmed will get priority on the reserve list if they are online or by making themselves availble for contact by an officer should a replacement needed. Anyone who did not sign up for the raid but is online during the raid can have themselves added to the reserve list by whispering an officer and requesting a place in the queue. Only after the reserve list is empty of the required classes will officers ask members who are online if they would like to join as a reserve.
The reserves list is still subject to minimum gear requirements and guildrank.
Summary of priorities:
- People who signed up but were outrolled or not confirmed
- People who request to be added to the reserve list
- People who are online at the time a replacement is required
